My Favorite Dry Adhesives

Everyone has his or her favorites. Favorite clothes. Favorite foods. Favorite music. And when it comes to scrapbooking, I definitely have my favorite adhesives. Now, I think that everyone has their own opinion about what is best, so I’m not saying that my list of adhesives will work for everyone. The best way to learn about what works best for you is to try several things out and then see which one you keep coming back to time and time again.

Here is my list of favorite dry adhesives. (A dry adhesive is one that does not require any drying time.)

Hermafix Tabs. If you have been scrapbooking for a while, you probably remember those boxes with the rolls of tabs inside with the little blue tab that you had to remove from each sticky tab. What a pain that way! These are pretty much the same tabs, but they come in a handy dispenser and you can just roll them out onto your paper or photos. The dispenser comes in a variety of colors and you can easily refill the dispenser when you run out of tabs.

Hermafix Dotto. The dotto has a similar dispenser to the above-mentioned Hermafix tabs, but it is a little smaller. The thing I love the most about this adhesive it that if you want to remove it from your paper or photo, all you have to do is rub it and it just comes right off and turns into something similar to eraser shavings. The adhesive it tiny dots that you just roll out onto your project. It is very simple to use.

Therm O Web Super Tape. This is my newest fun find in the world of adhesive. This is basically double sided super sticky tape. To use this adhesive, just unroll your desired mount of tape and place it sticky side down to your project. Then you just peel off the red protective coating on the other side and adhere whatever you need to adhere. I really like to use this for adhering ribbon to projects. You could also use it to attach microbeads or and other small object.

Glue Dots. This is a must for any scrapbooker. The dots come in a few sizes, but mini is my favorite because it always fits under what I need to adhere without sticking out. This is perfect for adhering metal, ribbon bows, and chipboard to your layouts.
