At the beginning of each school year my home and school mailbox fills up with magazines offering teaching materials. These companies know that teachers receive the bulk of their supply money at the beginning of the year. This is the time when teachers need to restock and prepare for the year.
I am sure that there are many school supply companies out there that I have not even heard of. However, I am partial to a select few companies that I have found. Many companies are either supply or instructional oriented. Teachers need to purchase from both types of companies.
In this article, I will share my two favorite companies from which to order teaching supply materials. Both companies accept Purchase Orders from schools.
Classroom Direct
The first is a company that I have been with since the beginning. Classroom Direct is a great place from which to order supplies. They offer a great variety of pencils, pens, papers, art supplies, and more. Classroom Direct has free shipping for large orders and often sends percent off discounts. They usually have web specials and send notifications when items have been put on clearance. The only hold back that I have with this company is web ordering. Several times, I have had difficulty getting the order form to work properly.
Discount School Supply
This is a school supply company with which I recently began placing orders. They offer much the same as Classroom Direct. However, there are a few items that I can get from Discount School Supply that Classroom Direct does not offer. I order my chart paper from this company. Discount School Supply also offers discounts and specials. I always check between the two for good prices on construction paper. I have ordered it from both. Sometimes each company will have a special discount.
