If you still have last minute shopping to do, maybe some stocking stuffers for your kids, but you don’t want to fight the crowds at the mall or Wal-mart, I have the perfect place for you–your local pharmacy. Yes, that’s right your local pharmacy. Not only can you pick up some nice inexpensive gifts but you won’t have to stand in long lines to pay for your purchase. Leaving you more time to trim your tree, bake some holiday cookies or just relax.
Before there was a Super Wal-mart or Target , there was Walgreens. I had almost forgotten how much I used to shop there until I went in the other day to buy a new blood pressure machine. While there, I wandered down the aisles and found quite a few goodies for Tyler. They were having several sales and one was a “3 for $11.98” sale. I got this really nice electronic dog, a 3-in-1 game and a big ole set of mechanic tools. They also had electronic games, dolls, toys and many items you would find at Wal-mart . And at this time of the year everyone is having a sale so the big name pharmacies are keeping their prices comparable so that they can get a slice of the holiday spending pie. And did I mention you won’t have to stand in any long lines?
Don’t have a Walgreens near you? Don’t fret, all the major chains including CVS and Rite Aid, are having last minute sales. CVS for instance, is having a ” buy 1 get 1 50% off” sale on select toys plus additional saving throughout the store. Rite Aid has a similar sale plus many items 25-50% off.
In addition to toys for your kids, you can pick up gifts for just about anyone on your gift list (yourself included). Just please promise me you won’t get the Chia pet!. I still have a few more things to buy but instead of fighting the crowds at the mall, Wal-mart or Toys R Us , When I break for lunch, I’m taking a trip down the street to CVS . See you there!
