New Cabbage Soup Diet Website

This just goes to show you that anybody can create a website and make money! Somebody struck Google advertising gold when they decided to start their own website about the Cabbage Soup Diet.

Anybody who has done any kind of dieting has at least heard of the Cabbage Soup Diet. The diet that promises “The more soup you eat the more weight you lose”. This diet has been around far longer than the internet. It began in the days when diets were written down by hand and photocopied to be shared by co-workers and with family members.

This new website claims to have “pulled together the collected wisdom” on the Cabbage Soup Diet and created a one-stop shopping site for everything to do with Cabbage Soup.

I’ve browsed the site and checked out what they have to offer and although I’m not terribly impressed with their content, I am very impressed with their ability to cash in on a popular diet and really make some serious money with something that has been so long in the public domain. Granted, Google advertising can bring in a bit of money, but on every page of this website, there is a central ad for an e-book called the Negative Calorie Diet. (The negative Calorie Diet Book claims to tell you all those foods that require more calories to digest than they provide, thereby creating a negative calorie effect.) The e-book comes with several additional bonus bits but the financial beauty of this thing is that it sells for $29.97 and the website that advertises it makes $17.98 on each sale.

This website also pitches the Cabbage Soup Diet as a “7-Day Free Diet Plan”. True. It doesn’t cost a thing to get the diet information from the site but you still have to buy your own food. It is a little misleading for the consumer (me & you) but quite savvy for marketing.

Overall, I haven’t seen this site offer anything that isn’t already offered here at Families.com but I have to take my hat off to the creator of the site for their financial savvy in creating a cash cow that is probably generating enough income for them to pay for their Nutrisystem Diet Plan.
