I hate spiders, but you have to admit having eight arms would be pretty nice some days. Life as a single parent is busy and without fail it manages to get even busier throughout the holidays. You’re running around trying to take care of kids and using every spare second they are away to get ready for the upcoming holiday season, which we all know is about impossible when they are around, unless you are superwoman and blindfold them during your Christmas shopping, which most of us find rather difficult. This means that we have very little time to take care of our own needs during this time of the year (or any other time of the year for that matter), because you are so busy running around trying to take care of everyone else.
If only I could be a spider for a day. Aside from the creepy crawly part, I just want some extra arms to help get things done around here! Between school and Logan it’s a wonder I’ve managed to hold it together this long! Motherhood is a demanding job. Your children need you whether the laundry is done or not. Sometimes you have to let the dishes sit for a night so that you can get down on the floor and play pirates with your son.
Mothers are forced to learn the art of multitasking early on, but perhaps when it comes to our kids, two arms are enough. Sometimes it’s better to just set everything else aside and just spend some quality time being a mom. While it would be nice to have eight arms as I’m running from one thing to the next around the house, for Logan’s sake I think I’d rather just stay mom. I’m no superwoman, but it only takes two arms to wrap him in a big bear hug!
