Old Navy’s Mascot Search

You’ve probably seen those commercials for Old Navy with their four-legged mascot, Magic. Magic was a scruffy shelter pup who rocketed to fashion stardom as Old Navy’s favorite furry fan. Now that Magic has retired to live the good life and is ready to pass the mantle on to a new generation of four-legged fashion fiends!

If you think your pup is Old Navy star material, just visit their website and submit a photo and description of your dog before May 29th. You can also visit a casting call in your area. The Old Navy folks — including a panel of dog-loving celebrity judges — will pick six dogs as their top favorites, then take votes from visitors to pick the new top dog!

As I write this, there are over eleven thousand dogs in the running! It’s going to be very hard for the Old Navy staff to narrow the list down to just six finalists!

Voting opens on June 23rd and runs through July 7th — so be sure to check back at Old Navy’s site to see the finalists and cast your vote!

The grand prize winner will star in Old Navy’s next advertising campaign! And to help your new star live it up in style, he or she will be awarded $10,000 cash and prizes. You and your pet will be flown out for a three day photo shoot with the Old Navy crew… airfare and accommodations provided.

If your dog is one of the five runners-up, he’s not going home empty-handed… or empty-pawed. Each runner up will receive a cash prize from Old Navy.

I think I’ll be entering Moose and Lally, even though they may not be QUITE model material. Lally’s got those funny teeth, so all her shots would have to be from the neck down… and Moose would have to be a plus-size model. Can you imagine seeing YOUR dog on television, frolicking in Old Navy’s latest fashions? Lally does like to dress up… she has a vest from J. Crew that she particularly likes. Moose likes it too — when Lally is wearing it, he tries to take it off of her!
