Sunday nights are quickly becoming my favorite night for television. My husband and I eagerly rush the kids off to bed before 8pm and then settle down to watch first Once Upon a Time and then Downton Abbey. We load the dishwasher and pick up stray socks during commercials and give each other recaps if one of use doesn’t get back to the screen in time.
In my opinion, Once Upon a Time just keeps getting better. Last night’s episode featured an upcoming wedding, a mysterious stranger in town (I have my own theory) and a deadly disease, otherwise known as love.
David and Mary Margaret run to get coffee at Granny’s at exactly 7:15 in the hopes of being able to see each other, despite the fact that David decided to work on his marriage, once his full set of false memories kicked in. Aw, aren’t they cute?
Mary Margaret tried to stay away, especially when she bumps into David’s wife Katherine who is buying a pregnancy test. Regina, acting the evil queen that she is, first orders Mary Margaret away and then later orders Emma Stone to investigate the mysterious stranger. The stranger turns out to be a mysterious bad boy writer. Many questions are still left unanswered.
Meanwhile (?) in fairy tale land, Prince Charming (James) is ready to throw away the whole kingdom in order to be with Snow White. Snow, on a race to reach James, bumps into the Dwarves Grumpy and Stealthy. There is a good reason that no one has ever heard of Stealthy Dwarf. Remember Star Trek and the guys in red shirts? Yup, Stealthy wasn’t stealthy enough to avoid biting the bullet, um arrow.
Snow finally reaches James but tells him that she doesn’t love him and never will. What? She does this in order to save his life, since the King threatens to kill James if Snow doesn’t break his heart. Instead, her own heart is broken and Grumpy offers her a place in the woods with himself and the other dwarves.
Good old Rumplestiltskin isn’t left out. Creepy as always, he provides Snow with a potion that will erase her memories of James. Too bad she uses it just before James leaves his future bride to seek out Snow.
But all is not lost, yet. David and Mary Margaret, unable to resist true love and the forces that bring them together, wind up in a passionate kiss in the middle of the street. Another too bad: Regina witnesses the whole thing.
