One-Pot Cooking- A New Cook Book

If you’ve been reading my blogs and recipes you know I’m a no fuss cook, so when I saw a book titled One-pot Cooking how could I possibly resist? Along with the book came a copy of the March issue of Super Food Ideas magazine, which has been around for over 10 years and has a wide readership. I admit I didn’t even know it existed. But the Mexican Chicken Bake on the cover is enough to make me think it will be good too.

As a bonus to Super Foods Ideas One-pot Cooking which tells me it has ‘ easy, tasty, no fuss dishes for the whole family from Australia’s favourite magazine, over 250 recipes and the magazine with its recipes that include approximate coast for the budget conscious, I also received 36 freezer labels. Since the upright freezer is one of the best investments ever, and an appliance I would never be without, those labels will come in mighty handy, especially for labeling casseroles and crock pot meals where I cook half and freeze the other half for a quick and easy meal.

Those of you, who are into glossy photos showing each dish, will love this book and I can’t wait to start trying out the recipes. They are split up into soups, beef, chicken, lamb, pork, seafood vegetarian, sweets and of course an alphabetical index.

Some recipes I’ll be keen to try are Beef, Prune and Orange Tagine only with rice as it’s shown in the photo not couscous as suggested in the recipe, North Indian Beef Curry, and Vegetable and Fish Green Curry which reminds me I used to make a fish curry that we haven’t had for ages. I must dig it out to share with you. As for the desserts they sound scrumptious and I’m sure some will work as well with gluten free flour or pastry as the do with normal pastry.

In the magazine I found an apricot, fig and raisin loaf which you can be sure I’ll try and I won’t need to change it at all as it’s gluten free. Yes, I’m looking forward to getting into the book and the magazine. I’ll let you know down the track how it goes.

Price of this cook book which will be published by HarperCollins and should appear in April is expected to be $29.99AU. Sounds like a great buy. Maybe this will become my new favorite cookbook.
