Over a Year Later Still Enjoying Wii Fit Plus

It has been more than a year since I purchased and began using my Wii Fit Plus. I remember at the time my oldest son thought it was stupid. How can you get fit using a balance board and some games on the television screen?

I wasn’t sure at the time it was going to work either. After all, it was more fun than work to do many of the interactive activities. But as I began to create my own workout routines, I found it was actually more challenging that I thought.

Here are the greatest benefits I have found with Wii Fit. First, the exercises have completely eliminated the constant back pain I was having. Many of the yoga exercises have stretched and strengthened my body in a way that I am much more flexible. Now the only time I get back pain is if I let a few days go by without exercising. But once I get back to it, I am good.

Second, my posture and balance is so much better. I never gave much thought to these things, especially with balance. But it is amazing the difference you feel when you didn’t even know it was an issue. It’s kind of like someone who doesn’t realize how poor their eyesight is until they get a new pair of glasses. Suddenly you understand what you were missing out on.

Third, I love the variety that Wii Fit has. I get bored very easily with exercises. But you can change things up in so many ways. In fact, I have a different exercise regiment for everyday of the week. This makes it easier to stick to my exercises.

Fourth, I love the way you can keep track of your progress, including your BMI and weight. This allows me the opportunity to see where I still need work.

After using Wii Fit for a year now, I can only think of one downside. But even with that, I have found a way to compensate. No matter what type of yoga exercise you choose, you only do a few repetitions or spend a couple of minutes on each one. However I have adjusted for this. Sometimes I will do the exercises on my own, without even having the Wii Fit on.

I highly recommend Wii Fit, especially for those who find exercise to be boring and need something that is going to be fun.
