Planning Your Scrapbook Crop (1)

We started out talking about setting up your scrapbooking crop, because making sure you have the space to hold it is one of the most important steps. If there isn’t enough workspace scrapbookers will have a difficult time getting work done. Now it is time to talk about planning for the crop.

Each of these categories are areas you must think about when you are planning your crop. Hosting a scrapbooking crop can get expensive, so you also have to think about the cost involved, and if you can cut costs anywhere. Some hostesses charge a $10.00 fee which goes towards supplies, contests, prizes and food. Some totally foot the bill but find other ways to cut costs. It will be up to you to decide how you want to do it.

Invitations

Be creative when you make your invitations. You could create them to look like mini scrapbook pages, or else just send a simple one with a scrapbook embellishment or something free inside. You will want to be sure that you include the date, the time and the address. You might also require people to RSVP so that you have a good idea of who is coming. If someone has not RSVP’d several days before the party (a week is a good measurement), you might also follow with a phone call reminder. Many people have very good intentions but forget to RSVP. Then they don’t show up because they think it is too late, when really you could have accommodated them.

Snacks, Food and Beverage

This is another area you will need to decide on. Do you want to provide a meal? Pizza? A Theme food night perhaps? Or maybe you might suggest that each person bring a snack food for everyone to enjoy. Suggest things like cookies, brownies, chips and be sure to include healthy snacks like carrot sticks and celery and other nutritious things for the more health food conscientious scrapbookers. However you decide to do the snacks, food and beverage, remember to include chocolate as a staple and NEVER have food or drink around you while you are scrapbooking. You might set up an area in your kitchen exclusively for eating and drinking.
