June 16Obama and McCain on the Economy

As both political candidates begin to spar over key issues in this election, I took some time to outline their differing views on the economy and more specifically taxes. In short, McCain favors a tax break–especially on things like gas. Obama favors raising taxes for those with more money while reducing taxes for the middle class.

June 18Michelle Obama to Visit the View

In an attempt to soften her image, Michelle Obama co-hosted the view. It seems that her visit was successful in improving her public image. We loved her dress, we loved her graciousness at sending Laura Bush a thank you note, and she eloquently denied the “whitey” thing. Now, Michelle Obama, Harvard educated lawyer is cool again. (And the rest of us are wondering if this really is what politics has come to?)

June 20Obama Opts Out of the Public Financing Program

Setting a historic precedent in being the first Presidential candidate to do so, Obama announced that he will not use the public financing monies. Analysts say this quite potentially will ruin the public system of campaign finance. However, Obama stands by his decision saying that the system is broken. I wonder if it’s the system, or simply the people using the system.
