Porta Cribs: A Good Investment

Traveling with a baby can be difficult at times, especially when it is time for baby to nap or go to sleep for the night. One particularly handy piece of baby equipment is a porta crib. I never had one with my child, but I wish that I had. Things would have been a lot simpler if I did.

A porta crib is great for traveling. You can easily pack up the porta crib, as it is lightweight. It folds easily and can be tucked away when not in use. If you take your baby to a babysitter’s often, the porta crib is a great baby item to take along with you. Your baby has his own separate bed to sleep in and does not have to share with other children. Not only is this more comfortable for your baby, but it is more hygienic as well.

A porta crib is convenient even in your own home. You can take your baby out in the yard with you during nap time and let your baby sleep in a shady, cool spot when the weather is hot and stuffy inside your house. You can purchase a mesh netting that goes over the top of the porta crib. Since there is mesh surrounding the porta crib as well your baby will not get bitten by insects while he sleeps.

On visiting trips to other people’s homes your baby will be comfortable and safe sleeping in his porta crib. You will not have to rush home and put your baby to bed when he gets sleepy either. Just unfold your porta crib where he can take a little nap.

Some porta cribs that are sold today have a sling on the top that you can rest your baby on when changing his diaper. This is a great convenience, as you do not have to bend over the porta crib anymore and change the baby.

I will never forget our first trip out of town with my baby. We stayed at a hotel and requested a crib for him. What did we know anyway? They brought us a crib as we requested. We took one look at it and we were astonished. The porta crib that they brought us looked as if it would fall apart if we touched it. It was old and rickety. Needless to say, he did not sleep in it, but it was worrisome to have him sleep with us for fear that he would fall off the bed. I wish that I had had a porta crib back then.

For convenience and safety, I would recommend putting a porta crib on your baby wish list.
