Pretty Vases

Before telling you about this I have to give this disclaimer- I am not responsible if after trying this you Mod Podge everything in your house, it’s that addicting! This is truly one of the easiest craft items you can use and you can use it on so many different things.

If you’ve never used Mod Podge run out and get some right now! I’ve used it for so many things, one of my favorite being an old jewelry armoire I found at a thrift store, I painted it and used Mod Podge to cover it with pictures, it turned out amazing!

This time of year, right after Valentines Day, you may find yourself with an abundance of cheap looking clear glass vases. How many of those do your really need? I always save them, because I can use them when the roses are blooming to give my sisters and my daughter bouquets from the garden.

Now I can give them even prettier ones!

Supplies

Glass vase, any size and shape, any color
Tissue paper- the same paper you use for gifts, I got mine at the Dollar Store
Mod Podge
Foam brush

Rip the tissue paper into stripes and squares, really any shape you want, smaller is easier to work with rather than larger. Spread some Mod Podge on the vase using the foam brush, stick a piece of tissue paper on it, add more Mod Podge and more tissue paper. Continue until the vase is covered. Let dry.

After mine was completely dry I went over it again with another coat of Mod Podge, it kind of looks like white glue when you apply it but once it dries it’s clear and waterproof.

The really neat thing about this is the combination of Mod Podge and tissue paper gives the plain glass vase a textured look and feel.

Now just try to resist Mod Podging everything!
