Primary Bulletin Board

This year, the theme in primary is Choose The Right. It’s been a great theme to talk to my kids at home about too. Even my 3 year old will say to me when he is reprimanded for doing something wrong, “Mommy, that’s not choosing the right!”. It’s an easy concept to teach to children, so I’m glad it is our theme for 2012.

Part of my calling that I have to admit I haven’t been too great at, is decorating our ward bulletin board. However, this year, we have another ward that is in our building with us that went all out with their bulletin board, so I felt the pressure! Since we have a small primary, I thought of an idea that would spotlight each child, as well as go along with the theme for the year.

I’m going to create a template for a picture frame that I can just print out on my computer. On the frame it will say, “I will choose the right by___________”. I will let each child color and decorate their frames. They will also fill in the blank by choosing something that they are going to work on during the year that will be a way that they can choose the right. Then, I will take a picture of each child (with the parent’s permission) to put in the frame. Their precious faces will adorn our bulletin board this year, and remind the children of their goal that they have set for the year.

I’m looking forward to this project, and I think the primary children will love it too, and it is a way that they will all feel special throughout the year! What are you doing in your ward to help remind your primary children to CHOOSE THE RIGHT?
