How to stand when using a stair climber is an often overlooked safety issue. Stair climbers have been around for a long time. Climbing stairs is an effective exercise. Taking the stairs instead of the elevator is often recommended when trying to build up endurance. Climbing can raise the heart rate which is good for stamina. It is a very healthy way to exercise. Stair climbers were invented to bring the exercise to people who don’t stairs to climb in their homes and to encourage cardiovascular activity. There are many models available. Standing improperly can cause back strain and neck strain, leg cramps and possible hernia. Putting unnecessary stress on the muscles can have lasting effects. Build up stamina. Never go too fast. Falling could result in injury. If using an electric machine, use the slowest setting and increase slowly every week. Never go too fast. This will result in injury and a rapid heart beat. Clean off the surface every the machine is used. Make sure nothing can get inside the machine like cloth, shoelaces or any other hanging material. This could cause injury or cause the climber to break down. Repairing a stair climbing is expensive. For overall health, stand up straight, take the time needed, record daily results and try to match and beat them weekly. Always drink water and stretch before and after using the stair climber. Climb stairs in a well ventilated area with plenty of room to get on and off the machine. Safety is the most important thing to consider when exercising.
