As a freebie lover, I enjoy trying new products whenever I can. When I got my free samples of Purex Complete 3-in-1 Spring Oasis I didn’t think they’d work at all. First of all, I’m always suspicious about products that claim they can “do it all.” According to the package, just one of these sheets is laundry detergent, fabric softener, and an anti-static product all rolled into one. Sounds great, but did it work?
The product is about 4″x6″ and very thin and stiff. You simply toss it into the washer and do your laundry then put it right into the dryer. The package says to use one for a small load and two for a large load. Well, I’m frugal so there was no way I’d use two of these things. I put everything from towels to jeans in the washer, slipped the Purex 3-in-1 sheet in there, turned on the washer and let it do its thing.
When the clothes were done in the washer they looked pretty clean. Not better or worse than anything else I’ve used. Into the dryer it all went. Once they were dried and I took the clothes out…now I could say I was impressed. The clothes smelled wonderful and everything was very soft and static free.
The package came with a $1 coupon as well. I’m not sure how much these are in the store, probably a pretty penny. Checking on Amazon right now I see that they have them for around $9 for 20 sheets, plus the dispenser. This breaks down to 45c a load. They may be more or less money at the store, and purchasing through Amazon carries a shipping and handling charge as well. Like many people, I have to count every penny.
So, is it worth it? For convenience and for those who want to be earth-friendly, these are great. For those of us on a tight budget, I’d say to pass. You can get a free sample of Purex 3-in-1 here and try it out for yourself.
