Reuse from A to Z! (B Continued)

Ready to keep going with our reuse ideas? So far, we’ve covered the letter A and some of the letter B. Let’s continue to find creative ways to reuse our items and save money.

B

Baggies: Wash the baggies out and reuse them over and over again. You can use a baby bottle rack for convenience.

Binders: Three ring binders are constantly being thrown out by offices. You can reuse them to organize any of your home office items, such as bank statements and credit card statements. Or use them to organize recipes. You can even buy inexpensive plastic sleeves and use the binders to conveniently hold your DVD or CD collections.

Blankets: My philosophy is that you can never have too many blankets. If a blanket is no longer needed for its original use, consider leaving it in the car for emergencies, using it to block drafts in your home, or bring it to the beach or the park for a picnic. You can also cut up a worn blanket and use the pieces for new quilts, pot holders, towels or rags.

Bottles (glass): Use old bottles for flower vases or candle holders.

Bottles (plastic): Use plastic bottles to store water for emergencies or to drink in the car. Fill the bottles with water and freeze them for convenient ice packs that won’t leave a puddle of water.

Boxes (appliance): Use these large boxes to make forts, puppet theaters and playhouses for the kids.

Boxes (cereal): Cut them down and use them to hold magazine. Cut a hole in a cereal box, on the side near near the bottom. Stuff the box with plastic bags and use the hole in the box to dispense them.

Boxes (shoe): Just like baby wipe containers, shoe boxes can have multiple storage uses. Use the boxes to store craft supplies, office supplies, old letters and children’s artwork, recipes, small toys and more. Or use them to create shadow boxes for a fun kids craft project.
