Romantic Valentine’s Getaways

I realize that Valentine’s Day is still three weeks away, but if you are planning to treat your sweetheart to a romantic getaway then you need to book your trip as soon as possible. Hotel managers say the weekends prior to and following Valentine’s Day (this year the holiday falls on a Thursday) fill up quickly this time of year, especially at properties that offer special Valentine’s Day Romance packages.

If you really want to impress your beloved on February 14th then consider heading to the ultra-luxe Residences at The Chateaux situated mid-mountain in Deer Valley Resort’s elite Silver Lake Village. It’s an easy 35 mile drive east of Salt Lake City and is now known as the place where “Grey’s Anatomy” star Katherine Heigl tied the knot on December 23rd.

Whether you want to surprise your better half with rose petals sprinkled around your hotel room, chocolates on the pillows or a candle lit bubble bath, the staff at Deer Valley’s Residences at the Chateaux can help. Couples visiting the resort during the month of February will also be offered romantic services including private fireside fondues, midnight snowshoe adventures and couples’ spa treatments.

And if Cupid hasn’t hit his mark with those luxuries the resort is offering a deluxe romance package, which includes accommodations plus a horse-drawn sleigh ride to the nearby Empire Lodge for a fireside meal, then back home to your upscale room where chilled champagne and a drawn bath await.

If you prefer to wine and dine the love of your life amongst the of majestic mountain peaks of Aspen, Colorado consider booking a room or suite at the prestigious St. Regis Resort or the equally luxurious Little Nell hotel. Both properties offer penthouses, which feature private chefs who will cook up a romantic five-course meal accented by caviar and truffles from the comforts of your own kitchen.

In Stowe, Vermont, proprietors of the Stone Hill Inn are offering Cupid-friendly experiences for epicureans. If you and your honey love to eat then consider booking the inn’s “Fun for Foodies” package, which features fondue dinner tours and chocolatier classes.
