“RV” Rolls Into Theaters

RV is one of the first summer movies to hit the big screen, opening in theaters April 28th. The movie is about a father who rents an RV and decides to take his family on a camping adventure.

When Bob Munro’s (Robin Williams) boss asks him to go on a business trip to Colorodo the same time as his family’s planned trip to Hawaii, Bob gets a brilliant idea. Scrap the families Hawaii plans, rent an RV, and take the family on a camping vacation in Colorodo rather than a tropical Hawaiian vacation. Sounds like a fabulous plan to me.

Now a family who can barely stand to spend any time together is forced to spend all their time together in a RV. No one seems very happy about the vacation plan change. What follows is an account of the families travels, filled with mishaps and tons of potty humor.

When I saw the previews for this film, it looked hilarious. I generally like everything that Robin Williams does, and thought this was going to be a great fun summer movie for the entire family.

This is probably not a movie you want to take your kids to. Although the film is rated PG it is filled with crude humor, and has some language as well as sexual innuendo that you would more than likely find inappropriate for your younger child. If you plan to take any of your children under 12-13 I would consider previewing the movie first. It is NOT what I expected after seeing the previews.

The film has a National Lampoon like quality to it, if you enjoy those films you may get a kick out of watching Robin Williams try to play the father who just wants to take his family on the perfect vacation.

The film runs about an hour and a half and stars Robin Williams, Cheryl Hines (Curb your Enthusiasm), Joanna “JoJo” Levesque, Josh Hutcherson, and Jeff Daniels.
