Sail and Save

left

Major department stores and discount retailers aren’t the only ones offering super savings this week. Several cruise lines are also trying to entice customers to buy, buy, buy while the deals are hot, hot, hot.

Princess Cruises just unveiled incredible discounts that will help save travelers up to $1,000 per cabin. The six-day offer, which ends on November 26, is good on more than 200 sailings to the Caribbean, Alaska, Hawaii and the Panama Canal that depart from January through July 2013.

In addition to the radically reduced rates, the promotion will also help you score on-board credits. For example, if you book a balcony cabin or suite you will receive a credit of $50 per cabin on cruises of up to nine days in length and $100 for sailings of 10 days or longer. If you book an interior cabin or an ocean-view room, you will get a credit of $25 on cruises of up to nine days in length or $50 for sailings of 10 days or longer.

Other savings include:

Seven-night Caribbean cruises starting at $769 per person for a balcony cabin (down from $1,269); $569 for an interior cabin (original rate was $819).

Seven-night Alaska cruises starting at $1,154 per person for a balcony cabin (reduced from $1,354); $854 for an interior cabin (was $954).

Fourteen-night Hawaii cruises starting at $1,690 per person for a balcony cabin (was $2,690); $1,090 for an interior cabin (originally priced at $1,790).

Fourteen-night Panama Canal cruises starting at $2,199 per person for a balcony cabin (reduced from $3,149); $1,499 for an interior cabin (was $2,399).

Crystal Cruises is also featuring deep discounts for solo travelers who book select 2013 cruises by December 28th. In order to pocket big savings you must sail between April and November 2013. Sample itineraries include:

An 18-day voyage from Kobe, Japan to Vancouver, B.C. starting April 12, 2013.

A nine-day sailing from Rome to Istanbul starting May 9, 2013.

A 12-day trip from New York to Reykjavik, Iceland starting May 23, 2013.

A 10-day Stockholm to Copenhagen voyage starting June 25, 2013.
