That said, I do reveal my age when necessary. For example, doctor’s appointments, security checks, and… when making hotel reservations.
You might consider divulging your age as well if you are looking to score super savings on a hotel room this Labor Day weekend.
Starwood recently announced that it is bringing back its “Pay Your Birth Year” promotion.
It’s not as painful as it sounds. In order to take advantage of the deal, you pay the rack rate for your first night’s stay, and then you’ll get your second and third nights’ rate at a reduced price based on your birth year. For example, if you were born in 1940, you’d only pay $40 for the second and third nights. Likewise, if you were born in 1955, you’d pay $55, get it?
The offer is valid at participating Starwood hotels through December 31, 2011, and yes, there is a catch. Regardless of your age, the promo is not valid at the company’s most expensive properties, such as Starwood’s Luxury Collection or St. Regis locations. In addition, several Starwood locations, including ones in Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta and L.A. are requiring that you pay $100 in addition to your birth year for your second and third nights.
Also, don’t forget to bring a valid ID when you check-in. If you don’t have it, the deal’s off.
If you don’t want to deal with numbers, mathematical equations or anything related to your age, then consider an end of the summer escape to TradeWinds Island Grand in St. Pete Beach, Florida. For about $180 per night you can relax on the sugar-white sands of Florida’s best beach and dine on succulent regional fare. The resort’s Labor Day Getaway package includes room accommodations, plus access to beach parties, carnival games, hula hoop and limbo contests, and two adult tickets to a buffet, which features amazing culinary creations, such as Macadamia-Crusted Mahi Mahi with Vanilla Champagne Sauce and Sirloin with Caramelized Bermuda Onions.
