Have you ever thought of scrapbooking for money? Any scrapper who loves what they do probably has thought to themselves, “I should do this for other people and get paid for it!” Or, maybe someone loves your work so much that they have said to you, “I’d pay someone to do this for me!” Well, many times the problem is getting started. A lot of people that have decided to go this route get their business through word of mouth. But, how do you get people to see your work?
A great way to do this is by starting small with scrapbooking for free for other people. Think of it as an act of service that will one day come back to pay off! There are many people or friends that you have that would probably love this as a gift. Simply make a small album such as an 8×8 album for a special occasion like a birth of a baby, or a graduation and give it to them as a gift! Simply tell them that you’d love for them to pass the word along about how much they loved the album and that you are interested in doing it for pay.
Another idea is to go into a retirement home and offer your services to them. You could create a layout for each resident in the home. Each resident could be photographed, and then list a few things about themselves that they would like included in the scrapbook. This could sit in their lobby, or waiting area of others to look through. Simply leave your card inside the album, or ask if you could display your business card on the table with the album.
My last idea is to offer your services to businesses. Many offices have parties and events that you could easily put into a scrapbook. You could create an album for them to leave in their lobby for their clients to look at while they are waiting. Again, you could leave your business card with the scrapbook so that their clients might one day be YOUR clients!
While this is a time consuming way to get started, it is sure to pay off. Consider scrapbooking for free for others first, to ultimately make some money!
