Scrapbooking Supplies on Vacation

The question of what to take on a vacation can be difficult to answer for a scrapbooker. Their list typically goes far beyond the normal bathing suit, towel and shampoo. In fact, usually a scrapbooker is left wondering what scrapbooking supplies can come along with them, and how best to utilize the time in the car, the plane or any other mode of transportation.

It is great fun to scrapbook on your vacation because it is a time to rest and relax and enjoy yourself. Scrapbookers find themselves happiest when they are creating and it can be difficult to imagine leaving anything at home.

Here are a few ideas to get you started:

Camera – This of course goes without saying. A scrapbooker never leaves home without that trusty device that can freeze a moment in time and help to etch it into our brains for years to come.

Idea Books/Magazines – A vacation is the perfect time to catch up on your reading. Bring along some scrapbooking magazines and idea books and spend your time lying on the beach scraplifting ideas. Don’t forget a pencil and paper so you can quick sketch the idea or record the title and page number so when you get home you can follow it.

Page Kits – If you actually want to bring supplies along, I recommend taking along page kits, because its the only way you can carry anything really. Be careful about certain embellishments too, some can actually be considered a weapon on an airplane.

I would seriously consider only bringing along reading materials and perhaps a few page kits. Maybe you could even stop and get some scrapbook supplies at a store where you are traveling to. You take a great risk of losing things, having things damaged or taken away, etc, especially if you are flying. Check out the airlines guidelines before attempting to bring ANY scrapbooking supplies on board.

Good luck and enjoy your vacation!
