Travel Scrapbook Ideas
Summer is here and many of us are setting off on vacations near and far. It is important to many of us to find ways to preserve the experiences we have while exploring away from home. I would like to share a few tips that should make scrapbooking your next vacation fast and easy.
Buy a small album. I suggest using a 6 X 6, 8 X 8 or 5 x 7 inch album if you are recording the events of one trip. These smaller sized albums are just the right size for sharing highlight of a vacation. It is also small enough that you cold take it along with you and journal about each day right in the album. Then you will just have to add pictures once you get home.
Take lots of pictures. The more pictures you take, the more likely you are to end up with a few really great shots that you will want to feature in your album. It is nice to have a lot of options with your photos, so you can never have too many.
Save your itinerary. You could include a copy of your entire itinerary in a pocket that you create in the scrapbook. You itinerary will also help you remember the daily events so when you are ready to journal about your trip, you will have this to help you remember the highlights of each day.
Save maps. Maps can be a great background on the page, just remember to use archival spray if you decided to use them. You can also use maps alone on the page to show details of where you traveled. If you travel to several cities, it would be fun to trace the path that you traveled during the vacation.
Make it fun. Don’t let the idea of creating a scrapbook about the trip when you get home take over how you approach your vacation. Remember that you are on vacation to relax and have fun, so don’t stress if you forget to pick up a business card from a great restaurant that you wanted to include in your album.
Keep it simple. Photos and words is really all you need to preserve your memories. Don’t worry too much about adding tons of embellishments. The story is what others really want to hear about.
