Scrapping Baby’s Milestones

My cousin is a new mom. She gave birth to little Jordyn Akemi a few weeks ago and already the baby has a scrapbook full of memories. It helps that my cousin’s in-laws are avid scrappers. Each of the sisters has been making individual pages since Jordyn’s birth, and this weekend they are gearing up for a big baptism celebration.

Major milestones, such as a baptism, lend themselves to multiple layouts. Fortunately, there are dozens of super cute baptism scrapbook paper designs to choose from, including:

For girls: Pink stripes or dots laid over a silvery plain or textures background would make an ideal page design for a little girl.

For boys: Use varying shades of blue or green paper.

Religious phrases: There are several manufacturers that sell paper with the words, “Blessed Event” embossed on it. You could also use paper that features other religious phrases pertaining to the baptism theme. One in particular that could work well for either a boy or girl’s scrapbook features shadow-gray “Joy, love, baby,” wording set against a white background. In addition, Karen foster offers a ton of religious phrases that can be worked into your baby’s scrapbook.

Another way to spice up a baptism layout is to add stickers with the words, “Baptism”, “Holy Ghost” and “New Life.” Scrapbooking Buddies also has several sets of baptism stickers. These pre-packaged sets are ideal for the busy scrapper. You can choose from the following:

Baby Girl Baptism: This set features a proud father and baby girl in her baptismal gown. The words, “My Blessing” are adorned with a daisy and are set against a pink gingham background.

Baby Boy Baptism: This set features a smiling dad and his infant son in a baptismal suit, complete with white afghan set against a blue pinstripe background.

Other sets include older kids with their parents and ones where the baby’s hair color differs (e.g. blonde, brunette, red, etc.). In addition, the background colors vary as well. If you want to stay neutral, then opt for stickers of crosses. Most include distinctly different cross stickers that make a nice accent on any baptism scrapbook layout.
