Since smores are just a much a part of summer and swimming trunks and sunburns I thought I would share some fun ideas on a smore menu. Why not get creative and have some fun during the summer? Since I can never leave well enough alone I decided to get a bit creative with smores. My husband decided to replace Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups with the Hershey bar and it was a genius combination. Recently, a lovely friend of mine mentioned how, out of necessity, she replaced strawberry marshmallows for the regular ones. I suppose when Smore fever hits and you run out of supplies you learn to substitute. She said it was a surprising and tasty combination. So that got me thinking what else can we do to jazz up a smore?
Here are some ideas to substitute the traditional with something new and fun like a smore with Hershey Special Dark and chocolate graham crackers with a strawberry marshmallow:
Graham Cracker
Traditional Honey Graham Crackers
Chocolate Graham Crackers
Cinnamon Graham Crackers
Marshmallow
Traditional Regular
Strawberry
Chocolate Bar
Traditional Hershey bar
Crunch Bar
Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
Hershey Cookies and Cream Bar
Hershey Almond
Hershey Special Dark Chocolate
Mint candy bar ( I dislike mint but I know there is a bar out there somewhere with mint. 🙂 )
Rolos
M&Ms
Add Ins
Sliced bananas
Sliced strawberries (or spread a small amount of strawberry jam)
Spread a small amount of peanut butter on the graham cracker.
Not only is this a fun way to spend an afternoon or evening you can do this on a rainy day with your kids. Have an indoor campout and bring out some fun smore recipes to brighten the day. Go ahead homeschool mom, have the kids add up all the different kinds of combinations and plan a contest. You know how to make the most fun days into something educational.
