Software Review: Sebran ABC Part II

Here are the rest of the activities included in Sebran ABC.

Activity # 2, 3 and 4 Addition, Subtraction and Multiplication– My son loved the addition and subtraction activities. Simple problems are presented and the child selects the correct answer from four choices. What’s great is that there are two difficulty levels so your child can progress as he learns.

Activity # 5. Pick a Picture This was another of my son’s favorites and mine as well. In this activity a word is shown along with four pictures. The child has to pick read the word and find the corresponding picture from four choices.

Activity # 6. First Letter In this activity a word is shown with the first letter missing and the child has to supply the missing letter by clicking on the correct letter (again four choices are given) or by pressing the corresponding letter on the keyboard.

Activity #7 and 8 Memory and Word Memory Just like the card game! In the first game you can select 16, 24 or 36 cards. Then you click on two cards to reveal the pictures. If it is a match they stay face up if not you continue clicking until all cards are pictures. If it is a match they stay face up if not you continue clicking until all cards are matched. In Word Memory, the child matches a word with it’s corresponding picture. You play with either 12, 18 or 28 cards.

Activity # 9. Hangman I had a flashback to my own childhood while playing this one. It’s just like the classic game we used to play on paper when I was a kid. Click on a letter, Like Vanna White, and if it is in the word or phrase it will be revealed. If not, a piece is added until you hang yourself. I lost one on purpose to listen to the sound effects– cool– sounded like the grim reaper’s coming to get you!

Activity # 10, 11, and 12 ABC Rain, Letter Rain and 1+2 Rain In these activities your typing skills are put to the test. In the first activity the child has to type the corresponding letter as it falls from the top. In the second activity, you also have to type but the ABC’s are falling in random order. In the final activity your child will have to work fast, not only testing his typing but his arithmetic skills as well. Simple addition questions rain down which the child must solve before it hit’s the bottom.

I would definitely recommend this program.
