Soulful Scrapping

If you can’t stop singing the blues when it comes to uninspired scrapbook layouts, then consider paging through magnificent music memory albums. Right now my local scrapbook store is featuring some of the most incredible music memory books created by crafty customers. A gal, who took a spring trip to visit the Grand Ole Opry, Graceland and The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, put together the most incredible music scrapbook I have ever seen.

Where to begin with its greatness…

For starters, the woman who handcrafted the music masterpiece went to Lyrics.com and designed her own scrapbook paper featuring the words to her favorite songs. The company will customize paper using digital image editing software, so that you can feature the words to just about any song imaginable as background for your layouts.

In addition to showcasing her best photos, she also included journaling blocks that described how her taste in music has changed over the years. You don’t have to wait until you visit a music mecca like The Grand Ole Opry before crafting a memory album. Rather, consider paying tribute to your love of music by featuring layouts that highlight certain eras. For example, think about your favorite songs from high school, college and beyond. Then, use your journaling block to describe how you feel when you hear favorite tunes from years past.

If you play a musical instrument you could create a few layouts to document your talents. Consider what inspired you to select your particular instrument and how music has influenced your life. You could also add a few pages that feature your favorite concerts. Don’t forget to include when you attend the performances and list your favorite parts.

For scrapbookers who are reluctant to expound on different experiences, consider using famous music-related quotes to spice up your layouts. Two very popular choices include: “Music and rhythm find their way into the secret places of the soul” by Plato and “Without music, life would be a mistake;” a quote by Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche.
