The weather in my neck of the woods has been downright sizzling.
Mother Nature’s hot flashes have triggered 80-degree temperatures in mid-March, which in northern Wisconsin is unheard of.
The historic weather is something I plan to record in my scrapbook, only we’ve pretty much bypassed spring and shot straight into summer, so I will have to make adjustments accordingly.
For starters I want to create layouts with light and bright paper that scream seasonal bliss. Rather than stick with standard cardstock or flat paper, I’m considering going a bit fancy with foil paper or glitter paper. I also recently experimented with thermography paper and would like to incorporate a few pages into my memory book as well. Stitched and die-cut paper are other options, as is shimmer paper, which would coordinate well with some of the photos I snapped of my daughter running through the sprinkler as the mercury hit 83 degrees on March 18th.
While it may feel like summer outside, I want to pepper my page designs with spring-related quotes, such as:

I’m going to place the famous sayings near the photos I took, and then share some anecdotes about how spring morphed into summer overnight in a journaling block. This historical meteorological moment is something I want to document and I couldn’t think of a better place than a scrapbook to do so.
