Sunny Days

Spring break and the living is easy.

If your family’s ideal vacation includes bright sunshine, miles of powder-soft sand, cobalt blue water and gorgeous views, then consider the following amazing seasonal escapes:

TAMPA

This Florida favorite is a prime place to have fun in the sun. Located on the Gulf of Mexico, Tampa is home to endless miles of breathtaking beaches, stunning natural areas and a host of kid-friendly attractions, including the Florida Aquarium. The watery wonderland boasts more than 20,000 plants and sea creatures housed in high-tech fresh and saltwater environments. It also houses dozens of interactive exhibits, including Shark Bay, which allows you to get up close and personal with denizens of the deep in the aquarium’s Shark Bay exhibit. For land-lovers the area is also home to Hillsborough River, a natural wonder featuring a historic waterway that you can explore in a rented canoe. On your self-guided trip you will get the chance to bond with herons, deer, otters and a variety of other animals.

THE CARIBBEAN

The Caribbean is a spring break hot spot for families with kids of all ages. While the islands are packed with plenty to do, you can typically get more bang for your buck if you stay at an all-inclusive resort. For example, Beaches is an award-winning all-inclusive family resort which features Sesame Street characters. Located in the Turks and Caicos, Beaches includes world-class restaurants, on-site babysitting services, water activities, day camps and other programs catering to young and old alike. If you are looking for something a little more subdued, then head to The Buccaneer in sunny St. Croix. Situated on a 237-acre former sugar plantation the resort has plenty of room for kids to roam. In fact, The Buccaneer is known for its family-oriented adventures which include a sailing trip to Buck Island Reef and nature walks where children are encouraged to pick and taste local fruit.
