Taking a Disney Family Cruise

When it comes to family cruises, there’s no doubt that Disney adds the “wow” factor not seen with other cruise lines. This organization pulls out all the stops to find innovative ways of keeping both children and adults entertained and the results are incredible. If you have not yet planned your family vacation for this or next year, I would highly recommend you consider a Disney cruise.

First, you will have a choice of two ships that include the Disney Wonder and Disney Magic. Both embrace the magic of Disney, taking all passengers of all ages on a voyage that creates a lifetime of memories. In addition to new and exciting offerings, you will still have the opportunity to enjoy some of the Disney traditions.

Although both of these ships feature everything good about Disney, they are also each distinct. For starters, Disney Wonder made its maiden voyage in 1999, one year after Disney Magic. Some of the fun features of the cruise ships include standard colors of Mickey Mouse, which include red, yellow, and dark blue. On the Disney Wonder, the bow depicts Steamboat Willie while the Disney Magic has the Sorcerer Mickey. Now for the stern, the Disney Wonder features Donald Duck and his nephew Huey while Disney Magic has a gorgeous painting of Goofy, all the kids (and adults) favorite characters.

Most parents worry about any vacation having enough excitement and fun for children. With a Disney cruise, you don’t ever have to worry about something like that. For instance, this cruise line offers what is called the Oceaneer Club, perfect for smaller children age three to seven. Run by highly trained professionals, the “club” pushes children to use their imaginations.

Another fun aspect of a Disney cruise is the swimming pool. Shaped like Mickey Mouse, kids swarm to be the first one in. Best of all, if you have a small baby in diapers, they too can enjoy a special fountain area just for them. Then after swimming, the children can make their way over to Pluto’s Hot Dog House Snack Bar for great “kid’s food” or to Scoops for interesting concoctions of ice cream.

The Disney cruise line also offers a number of live shows, sure to please the entire family. All staffed by professional performers, children and adults alike will love the singing, dancing, and colorful, elaborate costumes. While you could spend your money on another cruise line, Disney is made specifically for families. The cruises are action packed, safe, and affordable.
