Tempting Templates

When you are short on time and money, but still want to design attractive scrapbook layouts, then printing out free templates may be an offer that is too good to pass up. What’s more, with the surge in digital scrapbooking, the uber-affordable templates are easier to find than ever before.

I’ve had the most luck with free templates offered by Scrapbook Scrapbook. The company has a gigantic array of scrapbook supplies you can access at no cost, including templates and clipart. Moreover, the online resource is one of the easiest to navigate. You can select from thousands of free templates, print them out from the comfort of your own home, and then add them to your memory book. Another reputable company is Free Printables. The popular website offers no-cost scrapbook templates that you come in a variety of themes, Christmas, Easter, birthdays, travel and baby. Docstoc is another user-friendly site which allows you to choose from hundreds of free templates.

While some scrapbookers categorize the use of free templates as “cheating,” I happen to regard them as a gift. Templates are huge timesavers for scrappers, who want to design clean and organized layouts, but don’t have all day to meticulously piece together page after page of eye-popping masterpieces. In addition, ready-made templates are extremely versatile. You can place them over photos or use them for journaling without having to worry about color schemes or spacing.

If you are a beginner scrapbooker, I highly recommend visiting websites that offer free templates. Not only will you save time and money by printing out the featured templates, but many of the websites also offer valuable tips on how to improve the overall look of your scrapbook. Take a little time to view the sample templates. Note how other scrappers have used them in their books, and then incorporate some of the ideas to spice up your page designs.
