The Biggest Loser – Even Without a Gym!

I watched The Biggest Loser tonight, as I do every Wednesday night. Again, I was amazed at the stamina, the determination, and the sheer will of the participants.

Tonight, the participants had to give up their gym and work out at the house. Surprisingly enough, they still lost weight! And they even ate at El Pollo Loco!

I felt their fear as they wondered if they had eaten too much during the week, wondered if their workouts had been as effective since they weren’t in the gym, wondered if they’d lose enough weight or any weight at all…wondered…. We’ve all been there, dreading the moment we have to go out on our own, venture out of the house and actually eat at a restaurant or (gasp!) attend a social gathering. For many people, this signals the ultimate end of a weight loss plan or at least a plateau. But the Biggest Loser contestants have shown us that it is possible to live life and still lose weight.

I found myself a little nervous tonight as the voting began. After all, I’ve been watching the participants on their journey, have seen their families and watched them talk about their goals, their sadness, and their struggles. And I was shocked admittedly when Amy left. I was not, however, shocked to see her today, 88 pounds lighter and looking amazing! Way to go, Amy!

It just goes to show that if you really, really want to lose weight, you’ll make it happen, no matter what the circumstances.

I’ll be glued to my television next week at the same time to see who is the next to go…but mostly to get more inspiration for my own fitness quest. How about you? Do you watch?
