The Biggest Loser—Weight GAIN

Tonight, it was painful to watch the Biggest Loser. First, the contestants had to pair up with a member of the other team. Then they were told that one team would be eliminated at the next weigh in—that’s two people instead of the usual one. And it meant that the teams had to rely heavily on their partner to help carry the weight (or lose the weight).

For this reason, the weigh in was especially difficult to watch. Every person who has ever struggled to lose weight, who has ever tirelessly cut calories and worked out could feel Erik’s pain tonight.

He got on the scale and to his surprise—he’d GAINED 3 pounds. And if that wasn’t bad enough, it put his partner, Kai, at a major disadvantage even though she lost 6 pounds herself.

At the elimination, Kai was eligible to use her free elimination pass to take herself and Erik off the block. Predictably and understandably, she used it, sending Pam and Brian home. It was a sad goodbye, but one that was soon replaced with the shocker announcement of the season: a new couple would be taking Pam and Brian’s place!

I can’t wait to see next week’s episode to see who the couple is. I’m also curious how the dynamic of the house will change with the addition of two new contestants.

If you missed the episode, here’s how the numbers shaped up this week:

Pam: 4 pounds for a total of 40 pounds

Brian: 6 pounds for a total of 68 pounds

Wylie: 6 pounds

Marty: 7 pounds for a total of 79 pounds

Kai : 6 pounds for a total of 54 pounds
