The Hunt for the Perfect Double Stroller

When my husband and I were talking about having a third, I was hinting at wanting a minivan. In typical male fashion, he was dead set against ever having to put his hands to the wheel of a minivan. “But, honey…we will have 3 kids!! And, all of their gear that comes along with 3 kids!!” So, we began our hunt for a compromise car. We found one. It is the Mazda 5, which seats 6. Perfect for our little family of 5. Drives like a car, but Mazda markets this little car as a MINI minivan. SHHH. Don’t tell my husband.

So, we bought the car thinking it would be perfect, but there was one hitch. We also now needed a double stroller too. The problem is that our cute MINI minivan didn’t quite fit a double stroller. At first, we bought the popular sit and stand stroller, but it was too long. After selling that, we purchased a side by side Combi recommended by a friend. It was a fail when we tried to fit it into our tiny trunk space. We tried stroller after stroller (most of which we knew just by looking that it wouldn’t fit into our car) and to no avail, we couldn’t find one that seemed to fit. Then, I saw a Nanny (I know because I asked) pushing the coolest looking double stroller! It was a Phil & Ted’s. I immediately went home and looked it up and was disappointed to find that this great compact stroller had a not so compact price! I was beyond frustrated.

So, we kept looking. And, we kept getting disappointed. The Peg Perego side by side was a close fit, but again, too expensive. And, I still couldn’t get that Phil & Ted’s stroller out of my head. Then, I found one online. Used. Perfect.

So, we bought it, and I LOVE this stroller. If you aren’t familiar with it, you should watch this video that shows all the things it can do.

Your baby can sleep lying down while the toddler is in front. You can have two toddlers on it, and with our car seat attachment, it can be a great lock and go for an infant carrier. Best of all, it fit in my car!! If you are looking for a great jogging stroller, or everyday stroller for more than one child now that baby has come along, you should look into buying one of these. And, if you just have one baby, start saving now for the pretty price tag when you have your next baby. I’m sure you’ll love it too!
