The LDS Families Week in Review: February 18th – February 24th

I’m afraid that I didn’t get the regular Relief Society and Sunday School lessons completed this week, due to sporadic Internet access while on the road. I’m going to do a more ‘traditional’ breakdown of the week in review as a result, rather than a breakdown by class. Thankfully, Miriam was on the ball and in a writing frenzy, giving you no lack of things to read!

Monday, February 19th: The week started off with a summary of the Sunday School lesson in Gospel Doctrine: An Overview of the Sermon on the Mount. Miriam then provided a fantastic FHE lesson on prayer in Family Home Evening: Personal Prayer. She then reviewed the lessons covered at church on Sunday during Dinner Discussions 2007 Week 7. The day was complete after Elder D. Todd Christofferson’s talk in General Conference: “Let Us Be Men”.

Tuesday, February 20th: In Primary Time: February Theme “I’ll Follow Him in Faith”, we discussed the Febuary Primary theme. In Relief Society: Setting Up an Enrichment Playgroup, we talked about a great Enrichment activity or group for moms of young children. In Are You a Disciple of Christ?, we discussed the role of Christ in our life, and the sacrifices we may (or may not) be asked to make.

Wednesday, February 21st: In Sunday Student Preparation, we talked about preparing ourselves for our Sabbath day meetings. In Gospel Doctrine: The Second Half of the Beatitudes, we reviewed part of Christ’s sermon on the mount, and how we can apply it to our lives. Despite the cold days of winter, we talked about what type of hot summer activities we can start planning for our youth in Young Men and Young Women: Summer Activities. Hard to believe it’s time to start planning warm weather things, but trust Miriam to think ahead! We studied President Thomas S. Monson’s conference talk on developing a deep and everlasting faith in General Conference: “How Firm a Foundation”. And in Do You Feel God’s Love for You?, we looked at five ways to help feel the love of our Heavenly Father in our life.

Thursday, February 22nd: In Early Morning Seminary–Keeping Up Attendance, we examined ways to encourage our teenagers to attend seminary.

Friday, February 23rd: In Your Ward Family, we talked about the fellowship we receive as members of our wards and branches. In Your Priorities and Your Family, we remembered that our families are eternal parts of our life and should take priority. And in Courting Your Spouse, we discussed ways to strengthen our marriage through continual dating.

All in all, it was a great week, wasn’t it? Thanks for reading!
