The LDS Week in Review: April 9-14

This week there were several articles on Relief Society. We learned about the importance of visiting teaching supervisors and coordinators in Serving in the Relief Society: Visiting Teaching Coordinator and Supervisor. We also learned more about the various presidents in the Relief Society in Relief Society Presidents: Amy Brown Lyman, Relief Society Presidents: Clarissa S. Williams, and Relief Society Presidents: Louise Y. Robison.

Nola offered excellent insight on the Gospel Doctrine lessons in Gospel Doctrine: The Parable of the Sower, and Gospel Doctrine: Why Speakest Thou in Parables?.

Several blogs discussed teaching the gospel to your family. We learned about the counsel given by President Hinckley to use the General Conference talks as subjects for your family home evening in Tips to Help You Use General Conference Talks for Family Home Evening. Dinner Discussions 2007 Week 13 outlined last Sunday’s church lessons, so you can discuss them with your family. Family Home Evening: Music and Worship provides an outline to help you teach your children about church music.

General Conference: “Using the Supernal Gift of Prayer”
outlines Elder Scott’s guidance regarding how we should use prayer in our lives. Personal Prayer stresses the importance of taking time to really pray each day. While The Dangers of Complacency encourages us to continually work on building our testimony.

In Young Women: “Remembering, Repenting and Changing” we learned the counsel that Sister Julie B Beck gave to the young women at their last general session. In Young Men: Leadership Opportunities, we learn how the young men can learn to become leaders by attending church. Ward Activities: Pinewood Derby outlines a fun and easy activity to have in your ward.
