The Let’s Talk Pregnancy Blog in the New Year

In closing my very first month as a Pregnancy Blogger, I am closing out a year as well. I would like to say thank you to those of you that have read my entries so far. I’m having a wonderful time writing about a topic that is very near and dear to me. I hope you all are enjoying reading as much as I am writing. Here is a look-back on December 2006 and a look forward to the things I will touch on in the New Year:

I talked about a lot of things that relate to the first one or two trimesters of pregnancy, including using your intuition first to detect pregnancy and later to detect the sex of the baby. Next I talked about the almighty due date and gave tips on morning sickness.

I gave hints on keeping a meal diary and starting a journal of your pregnancy itself as well. In the following few entries, we discussed fun topics like old wives tales and the way dads deal with pregnancy.

I then touched on more serious issues such as how to choose a healthcare provider and how to research early prenatal testing. Then we took a look at how the rest of the world views childbirth compared to us.

Finding the proper maternity clothes as well as emotional support through pregnancy groups are two subjects I wrote on as well in December.

Using herbs in pregnancy can be a good thing, but it’s important to know which to avoid and which are safe to use.

Toward the end of your pregnancy, you will likely have a baby shower. Know what to register for to get the most out of it. Likewise, remember to first research baby gear before registering or buying.

Have a Blessingway to honor your journey into motherhood, and don’t forget to make a belly cast during the ceremony!

Finally, don’t forget the special care provider that is helping you through this wonderful time. If your midwife or doctor means a lot to you, get them a gift to show your appreciation.

In January, I will start off by addressing the issue of unwanted belly comments, and unwanted belly touching. Happy New Year!
