The Marriage Week in Review November 26- December 1

Welcome to our first official week in review for December. It’s the 12th month of the year and we’ve got just 23 shopping days left until Christmas and I’m planning a birthday party! Tomorrow, we’re throwing a party for our six year old and she’s got a number of guests, young and old coming. My husband and I get to play the hosts with the most and I’ve got 20 little treat bags to make today – in and around putting up Christmas decorations in the yard.

Since I know you’re just as busy with all the lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer behind us and the preparations for the holidays are well under way with celebratory events, gift giving, toys for tots and more here is the Marriage Week in review for November 26 – December 1.

In Marriage, Hush Up and Listen Sherry discussed one of the difficulties that married couples have when one spouse wants to just vent about their issues and their problems and the other spouse interrupts to blurt out solutions and you just want to tell them to hush up and listen. In Marriage Tips: A Day of Rest we talked about how married couples can enjoy the day of rest. In Appreciate What You Have we discussed how our culture seems to put emphasis on more rather than understanding and appreciating what we have. Finally, in What Have You Done for Me Lately? we discussed this despicable question that puts a value system on what spouses do for each other.

In Negative Feelings towards Stepchildren Part I, Part II, and Part III Sherry tackled a very difficult topic of how blended families can experience stress and issues with regard to your stepchildren at the holidays and more. In To Commit or Not to Commit we asked the question about whether it’s fair to ask a significant other to commit if they are not ready. In Don’t Quarrel in Front of the Kids we discussed a topic that there are a number of differing views on whether or not you should argue in front of your kids and readers chimed in with their thoughts and feelings.

In Marriage in the News: Romance in France we looked to the country of France and how marriage is in real decline there and the reasons why. In Is it Too Late to Give Thanks for My Husband? Sherry gave thanks for her husband and how she is truly thankful for him.

In The State of Marriage can Affect the State of Health we looked at how we relate to each other and it’s how stress on the negative can affect the outcome, recovery and side effects of surgery and more – whether it’s you or your spouse who is ill.

In What Are You Giving Your Honey for Christmas? Sherry described what we think about and how we look for ideas to give to our spouses. In Parents: Birthdays Are for Us, Too I talked about the fact that on my daughter’s birthday, it’s a celebration for my husband and I as well both for her and for us. In Top Marriage Choice for November I highlighted my co-blogger’s excellence in her articles and sharing her opinions specifically in her article Are you and your spouse opposites … Politically? In Holiday Stress: Managing The Spending This Holiday Season we talked about coping with the financial stress that holiday shopping can put on a marriage.
