The Pets Blog Week in Review for Apr 16-22

Politics, first aid, pet phobias, and our pets many quirks were among the hot topics Aimee and I wrote about this week in the Pets Blog. Snippets of what we covered each day follow below:

Monday, April 16

Panda Politics: The Tale of Hsing-Hsing and Ling-Ling recounts the life and times of two pandas who became ambassadors not only for their country, but for the cause of environmental conservation as well. Who won the Moose vs. the Vacuum showdown in Aimee’s house? You’ll have to read her blog to find out!

Tuesday, April 17

Spring has sprung and the bugs they are a buzzin’. Murphy takes great delight in inspecting insects and looking for a “bumble” rumble.
Aimee addressed pet phobias –not the ones people have of pets, but the ones pets have of all kinds of different things. (For examples, read any of her many Lally and Moose anecdotes.)

Wednesday, April 18

Pet Owner’s Independence Day: Get to Work Murphy, Tabby and Kitty! Sound ludicrous to you? It did to me too! (That’s why I ultimately ended up choosing not to celebrate it.)

Thursday, April 19

She’s been flying under the radar now for a while, but it had to happen. Tabby had to get into some new mischief. Accomplished! See: The Great Pet Toy Swap. Do you know how many bones are in a dog or cat’s body? Would you know what to do if one got broken? In Pet First Aid: Fractures, Aimee clues us in.

Friday, April 20

The day before, Aimee covered what kind of first aid to administer in case of a fracture. Today she guided us through the procedures to follow and precautions to take when handling special cases of fractures.

Saturday, April 21

Most pets innately know how to swim, but they can still run into trouble. Hence, Aimee gives us some pet first aid lessons in drowning. (Not how to drown our pets, obviously, but how to rescue them from it.)

Sunday, April 22

In honor of Earth Day, I profiled Dawn, which does more than dishes, it saves wildlife too.
