The last time Grammy and Poppa came to visit was in September. Before they came Grammy called to ask if Jessie had a purse. Yes and no. Jessie appropriated my last nice purse for her own use and has taken over many tote bags. Jessie will carry around just about anything on her shoulder as a purse. On a trip to Kohl’s Jessie took a purse off a display and was going to leave the store with it as her own. Jessie is all about the purse right now; but no, she doesn’t have one that is specifically hers and specifically a kid purse. So when they came they brought Jessie the most adorable Disney Princess purse. Jessie was excited about it and set about the business of putting in and taking out the numerous bead necklaces that Grammy and Poppa also brought.
Jessie has put important things in the purse for safekeeping. It’s easy to get Blanket in the purse and zip it up. It’s a struggle to get Tiger in the purse, but it can be done. The other day she wanted Tiger and her sippy cup zipped in the purse and threw a monumental tantrum because it just could not be done. Two-year-olds do not feel that the laws of physics should apply to them. I’m two and the purse should magically alter to accommodate whatever I want to put inside. She even put a hot dog in the purse for later and got angry with me for taking it out and putting it back on her plate.
Recently the purse is going everywhere with us. Jessie slings that purse over her shoulder and takes it wherever she goes. She looks so grown up. She is accessorized beautifully with the purse. Next she’s going to care more about her bracelets and rings.
