After a string of high profile celebrity breakups it’s refreshing to hear about celebrity couples prepping for the arrival of their first child. This is especially true in the case of former “Felicity” star Keri Russell. According to news reports, the 30-year-old actress is pregnant and will welcome her first child (she’s engaged to a California contractor) this summer.
Russell’s rep told reporters her client and Deary got engaged last year. I don’t know about you, but for some reason I was a HUGE “Felicity” fan. I am by no means in the show’s target demo group, but for some reason I was enthralled by the show’s characters and the love triangle of Felicity, Noel and Ben. I gasped when Felicity chopped off her long locks in an act of independence and cheered when I heard that Russell and Scott Speedman (the actor who played Ben) began dating in real life (they eventaully broke up).
Since the show’s cancellation Russell has appeared opposite Tom Cruise in “Mission: Impossible 3,” landed the role of Cover Girl spokeswoman, and later this year she will star opposite Robin Williams in “August Rush” and “Girl in the Park” with Kate Bosworth.
But, Russell is not the only Hollywood star pregnant with her first child. Former “Dharma & Greg” star Jenna Elfman and her husband, actor Bodhi Elfman will be welcoming a new addition to their family in a few months. According to her publicist, Elfman is “elated about the impending birth.”
You’ll recall Elfman played Dharma Finklestein Montgomery on the 1997-2002 ABC comedy and recently starred in the CBS sitcom “Courting Alex.”
She and Bodhi have been married for 12 years and each time I see them making the rounds at Hollywood events I make the same comment: “They’re still together?” See how jaded I’ve become from constantly writing about the demise of celebrity relationships…
