There Are Days When I Don’t Want to Answer Another Question!

I have written here in the Home Business blog about how important it is to focus on being “helpful” and structuring our business and marketing in such a way that we hone in on what we can do to improve the lives of our customers and clients. While I definitely subscribe to that approach to business, I thought it would be only fair for me to confess that are those days when the last thing I want to do is be helpful to anyone! There are those days when I don’t feel like I have any answers and I don’t think I can rise to the occasion and answer any more questions…

Now, don’t get me wrong–this is generally an exception and not the rule. Most days I wake up on the “right” side of the bed and can stay open and available to the people who might call or write. But, there are days when one request and/or question just sends me over the edge. That is when I know it is time to close up shop–or at least take myself out of the public interactions and let the phone go to voicemail, put e-mails aside to answer another day and put my energy into doing parts of my business that do not involve me interacting with anyone. After all, it isn’t the other person’s fault that they happened to contact me on a day when I was out of sorts–My business will be better off if I just take a break from customer service instead of trying to plow on through when I am not in the right frame of mind.

Even on great days, I don’t have all the answers, but on days when I am crabby and “anti-social”–it is best that I don’t even try to answer the simple ones!
