Thoughts on Jealousy

Ask and you shall receive.

In a previous article, I discussed the different feelings that may occur when one runs into an ex boyfriend or girlfriend. In the comments section, a reader posted that she was still very close to her ex boyfriend. Now that they are both in new relationships, the couples meet and visit together.

I along with another reader responded that we would likely be too jealous to have our boyfriends or husbands hang out with an ex.

In the comments, JadeWalker questioned the jealousy. She even suggested that it might be a good topic for an article.

I feel that there are several different reasons on why people are jealous. I do not feel that jealousy is always tied to mistrust. I actually would be very upset if my partner were not jealous under certain circumstances. Jealousy is in our human nature. At times, it is a natural feeling. When it is taken overboard is when it can be harmful.

I actually feel that a spark of jealousy in a relationship is healthy. It can rekindle a youthful feeling. Jealousy can show that you care about someone and that you take pride in having them as your partner.

Jealousy can show that you would be upset or hurt if the relationship ended. It can show that you care about what happens between the two of you. Being jealous can even make your partner feel good about him or herself.

Of course all of things that I have listed above take jealousy in moderation.

Due to the discussion of jealously in the comments section, my next few articles will examine jealousy. They will discuss why people are jealous and the different consequences of having jealousy in your relationships. I hope that you stay tuned and give me your thought!
