Tie a Ribbon Around It

I love to scrapbook with ribbon. It can add so much to your page, and there are lots of things that you can do with ribbon to add dimension, and life to your scrapbook pages. This weekend, I actually got to sit down and do a scrapbook layout. It seems like it is harder and harder these days to find time to scrap. But, I used a lot of ribbon on a particular layout, and loved how it turned out.

I took a very thick piece of ribbon that I wanted to use for an accent color. In this particular layout, it was a pink ribbon. I was doing a girly, easter layout, so I wanted lots of color. Then, I took coordinating colored ribbon that matched both the colors on my layout, and the colors in my pictures and tied ribbons around the ribbon. It gave a great look that I was really happy with. Here is a picture of my layout:

Here are some additional ways you can use ribbon on your scrapbook pages:

*Create a photo border with it

*Staple the ribbon by folding it in two, leaving the ends exposed, and stapling it to an edge of your paper. Here’s an example:

*Tie a ribbon around the entire layout. I do this from time to time, and it is a very simple way to use ribbon on your layout. Simply wrap the ribbon around the back, and tie in a knot on the front. You need to make sure your ribbon is long enough to tie when the two ends meet, so always cut more than you think you need, and then you can trim the edges to the actual length you like. Here is an example of what it could look like:

*Tie a ribbon around an alphabet letter of your title. This is easiest when using thickers, or thick cardstock letters.

*Make a ribbon flower for your page. For a tutorial on how to do this, go here.

There really are endless possibilities when using ribbon on your pages. Try some of these out today!
