Tips on Making Money from Blogging

Many who engage in blogging look forward to the day when they can earn an income from their blog. It can be so exciting to earn money from blogging that it can be easy to make a mistake and get in on a bad deal. If you are a blogger looking to make money blogging you will need to follow a few guidelines.

Tips for Making Money from a Blog

There are a few options for earning money. There is advertising, text links, sponsored posts and affiliate programs. Once you are more established you can earn money from speaking and webinars. The important thing to remember is to consider your readers and your blog’s overall theme when pitching for ads or accepting a deal that is offered to you. If you are a blog that focuses on heath then making money from an ad about fast food. Your integrity as a blogger will be put in question. When it comes to online interaction, integrity and transparency are very important.

In addition to having ads and sponsored posts uniform with your blog you need to be aware of scams or those willing to take advantage of a blogger eager to make money.

For example. I received an email from a woman who claimed she represented a children’s educational game website. She actually represented a porn site. Have you seen those text links that sound innocent but lead to porn sites? That was what she was trying to get me to do. And she is not the only one. I received another email trying to pull the same thing. It happens because many are flattered and desperate to earn their first profit from their blog. Everyone wants a piece of the blog pie. Just be careful and remember your blog is your business. Treat it like a business and not piggy bank and you will find more profit overall in more ways then one.
