Top Fitness Choice for November

This month, my favorite series of articles focused on a reader requested need – the Post-Natal Fitness articles. A few weeks ago, a reader sent me a note and asked about articles that focused specifically on post-natal fitness and getting back into shape after having a baby. I’d done a couple of articles on post-natal and pre-natal fitness before, but I’d never focused specifically on this area of interest for women.

The Post Natal Fitness Series

Starting with So you just had a baby … and including articles on Counting Calories and The Marvelous Mid-Section and more. In the coming months, I’m going to be offering two workout articles per week that focus specifically on post natal fitness and getting your body back after the baby comes whether you have a c-section or a vaginal delivery. We’re going to talk about the challenges that face new moms from not getting enough sleep, to making sure they get the right nutrition to avoiding injuries.

There’s a lot about regular fitness programs that can be incorporated into your post natal workouts, but there are concerns that are very real and very specific to new moms. There area lot more options out there for new parents – from stroller mom fitness groups to working with personal trainers who are also mothers.

To be honest, this is one area where women may be far more comfortable working with other women. 6 years ago today, I gave birth to my only child and I know all the thoughts that go through your head over the next few weeks and months. I know the exhaustion you feel, I know the desire to reclaim your body and to bolster your self-esteem.

So the best article for the month of November is the Post-Natal fitness series and thanks to the readers who asked for it – we’ll be bringing you more in the months to come.
