Labor Day is the last taste of freedom for millions of school kids across the country. Once Tuesday morning rolls around it’s back to the old grind.
The first week back to school is typically fraught with challenges, as parents and children get reacclimated to nights filled with homework, extra curricular activities and last-minute dashes to the store for missing school supplies. In the midst of all the back-to-school chaos, dinner often gets overlooked and before moms and dads know it, bedtime is fast approaching and they’re looking around for a quick meal to serve up before herding the kids into the shower and off to their dreamland.
Rather than stress out over what to make for dinner during the first week of the new school year, consider treating yourself and your kids to a nice meal out. Several chain restaurants around the nation offer “kids eat free” promotions throughout the week. It’s an economical way to bond with your children while providing you with a break from kitchen duty. Pick a day or two or three and let someone else do the cooking for you at one of the following eateries:
MONDAY
Champps: 2 children eat free with each paying adult all day
Cinzettis: Children under 12 eat free from 5-9 p.m.
Holiday Inn: Children eat free with a paying adult
Fuddruckers: Kids under 12 eat free from 4-9 p.m. with each paying adult
Golden Corral: Up to two children under 10 eat free from 5-9 p.m.
Moe’s Southwest Grill: Kids eat free all day with an adult entree purchase
TUESDAY
Macaroni Grill: Kids get free ice cream with meal purchase
O’Charley’s: Children 12 and under eat free with purchase of adult entree
Bennigans: Kids eat free with paying adult
Chik-fil-A: Children eat free from 5:30- 7:30 p.m.
Perkins: Kids eat free from 4-7 p.m.
Coco’s: Children under 10 eat free all day with an adult entree purchase
Denny’s: 2 children eat free per adult purchase from 4-10 p.m.
WEDNESDAY
Carrow’s: One child under the age of 10 can eat free all day with the purchase of an adult entree
Damon’s Grill: One child per adult eats free
Islands: Kids eat free all day
Qdoba: Children eat free all day at participating locations
Zarda BBQ: Kids eat free all day
THURSDAY
Backyard Burgers: Children under 12 eat free after 4 p.m. with the purchase of an adult meal
Captain D’s Seafood: Up to two children per paying adult receive free meals all day
CB and Potts: Kids eat free all day
Salsarita’s: Children eat free with purchase of adult entree
