Scrapbook tribute pages can be created for a variety of occasions, including the first day of school. The simple layouts are designed to record milestones using materials that go beyond traditional scrapbook embellishments.
For example, if you are putting together a tribute page documenting your child’s first day of school, you will want to use a few mementos that reflect the date, such as newspaper clippings or a magazine cover. Another memorable addition to a back-to-school tribute page is a handprint. Rather than purchasing a handprint kit from the store, simply cover your child’s hand with finger paint and have him press it on a piece of construction paper. Consider recording the titles of the books your child learns to read independently. Another idea is to have your child print her name and other words she has mastered spelling on her own. You could have her do this on a separate sheet of lined paper or directly on the scrapbook page. Then, decorate the layout using stickers, die cuts, stamps, and gems.
