Update on DJ AM and Travis Barker

Both DJ AM and Travis Baker have been released from Doctors Hospital in Augusta, Georgia after their recent plane crash. That they even made it to the hospital seemed like a miracle in and of itself. In fact, on his Facebook page, DJ AM wrote “Adam Goldstein [real name] is the luckiest guy alive.” You can read more about the South Carolina plane crash in Michele’s blog, but DJ AM and Travis were the only two who survived – the pilot, co-pilot, and two other passengers died in the crash.

Today, DJ AM (looking well for a guy who survived such a horrific crash) attended a memorial for Chris “Lil’ Chris” Baker, who was Travis Barker’s personal assistant. Baker, age 29, leaves behind his wife and young son, but also many friends who loved him. Fall Out Boy said in a statement released to MTV News that “Chris was a rad guy. He always had a way to get us to smile on tour, no matter what situation we were in, and he was truly beloved.” The Game told MTV News that Chris was “like a brother to me.” Over 300 people turned out for his memorial service in Los Angeles today.

Travis Barker was released from the Georgia hospital today after receiving burn treatment to his torso and lower body. Ex-wife Shanna Moakler is reportedly at his side as he continues to recover. A source told PEOPLE magazine that Travis is still not in “good shape” and he will need to be treated at another hospital in Los Angeles, although Barker’s reps have not confirmed that report. The same source was quoted as saying “Trust me, [Barker] will never fly again – ever.” As someone that does not like to fly to begin with, I cannot say I blame him there!

About Libby Pelham

I have always loved to write and Families.com gives me the opportunity to share my passion for writing with others. I work full-time as a web developer at UTHSC and most of my other time is spent with my son (born 2004). I love everything pop culture, but also enjoy writing about green living (it has opened my eyes to many things!) and health (got to worry about that as you get older!).
